Crescendo is a 2.5D isometric roguelike inspired by Ancient Greek theatre masks. As a player, you are thrown into an amphitheatre arena and must fend off endless waves of jealous fellow actors attempting to silence your genius! Despite this devious betrayal, the show must go on, drawing the laughs, tears, and rapt attention of your clueless audience.
You must summon the storm of emotions swelling within you to give the performance of your life, switching between comedy and tragedy masks at opportune moments to unleash powerful Crescendos and more swiftly level up.
You always knew you would die in the spotlight… Maybe you didn’t imagine it quite this literally, but hey, when in Rome.
If this is to be your grand finale, you’d best make it a memorable one. It’s time to go out with one last, glorious Crescendo.
Initially in 48 for Global Game Jam 2026, Crescendo is currently undergoing further development. I served as lead audio and narrative designer for this project, and am excited to help develop it further as we add new features such as more locations, new enemy types, narrative elements, and boss fights. Stay tuned for more, and check out the first version of the game via this link!
